Emirates Introduces New Waiver Policy For More Flexibility

Emirates has been immensely generous with its policies. To add more to it, the airline has introduced a new waiver policy to help travelers fly with confidence, thereby offering them the flexibility to plan their trip, including booking flights to India with ease.

But what is the policy about? How will it offer more flexibility? And how will it benefit the travelers? Let’s find out! 

Emirates New Waiver Policy

The new policy rolled by Emirates is for travelers who have tickets that were issued before 30 September 2020 for travel before 31 December 2021. These travelers can now rebook their tickets anytime within 36 months. This has offered an extension of 12 months from the previous policy. 

The policy also has an update for travelers holding tickets issued after 1 October 2020 for travel before 31 December 2021. These travelers can use their tickets anytime within 24 months. 

The reissuing fee for any ticket is waived. Along with this, vouchers or unused portions of Emirates tickets may be refunded without penalty.  

On its website, Emirates explains the reason for the change:

“With the current developing conditions around the globe, we understand that your travel plans might change. So we’re giving you the flexibility to reschedule your trip with no change fees.”

“Any booking made on or before 31 March 2020 now comes with the option to adjust your travel dates at zero charges.”

Do You Need To Contact The Airline To Get The Tickets Extended? 

No. Whether you hold tickets issued directly by the airline or the airline’s retail/contact centers, there’s absolutely no need for you to contact Emirates. This is because the tickets will automatically get extended. 

However, if you book Emirates tickets via a travel agency or travel agent, you will need to get in touch with the agency/agent to reissue your tickets before their expiry date.

Emirates Multi-Risk Travel Insurance

Emirates has been the first airline to offer global multi-risk travel insurance cover for all the passengers. This has given unmatched peace of mind to the travelers who plan to book flights from India to Canada. Earlier, this insurance was covered for travelers flying till 31 March 2021. However, now, it has extended this facility beyond this date which has helped people be a bit more carefree regarding their travel plans.

Emirates Skywards Tier Status and Miles Extension

Emirates values the customers who are loyal. Emirates Skywards has, therefore, extended the Tier Status of its Silver, Gold, and Platinum members until 2022. 

The validity of any Skywards Miles has been extended until 31 August 2021 due to expire since April 2020. This gives Skywards members an advantage to utilizing the points for a wide range of flight and partner rewards as well as other privileges.

Besides this, one can now earn double Tier Miles with Emirates Skywards on all Emirates and flydubai flights booked from 01 April until 30 June, for travel until 30 December 2021.
