If you need to apply for a visa to Canada in India, you need to submit your application along with the required documents at your local VFS Global Center. After you complete the online application form, you need to send the physical copies of your passport, application form, and supporting documents to the center. This can be done by post or by walk-in. Previously, the local VFS Global centers in India only allowed walk-ins on Saturday, between 9 AM and 2 PM. That has now changed.
From 1st of August, 2022, Canadian visa applicants can submit their passport with prior appointment and pick-up their decision envelopes through the walk-in service Monday to Friday between 9 AM to 5 PM. The Saturday walk-in service mentioned earlier will be discontinued from this date.
If you want to drop off your passport, you need to book an appointment first and then visit the center at the scheduled time. If you wish to collect your passport and decision packet, you can drop by during office hours to pick them up without any appointment. Just make sure you have confirmation that the packet has arrived before you visit.
(1/2) 📢 Effective 1 August 2022, applicants may make an appointment to submit their passports directly at our Visa Application Centres in India.

Ans: Passport submission appointments are free of cost. You don’t need to pay anything aside from the Canadian visa application fees. If you are asked to pay any fees, please double-check the information provided and contact the center directly. Do not fall victim to fraud.
Ans: You will receive your appointment letter on the email ID you submitted on your form. The mail will be from @vfshelpline.com. If you don’t receive the email, please check your spam folder first before contacting your local VFS Global Center.
Ans: Yes, even if you’re visiting Canada with multiple companions and have applied for a visa at the same time, you still need to schedule separate passport drop-off appointments.
